SUBMISSIONS

We are accepting submissions and subscriptions for the summer issue of Off the Coast until June 15th with publication scheduled for August 1st.

Poets are encouraged to send translations as well as poems written in or about locations outside the United States which--as James Baldwin put it-- includes minority cultures and places inside which are "another country."

The fall 2009 issue will focus on poems about food. (Deadline September 15, 2009).

Send 1-3 previously unpublished quality poems. We prefer cut-and-paste in the body of an e-mail. Attachments in word format will do. Postal submissions should include an SASE with sufficient postage for return of all materials.

Off the Coast publishes at least six photographs in black and white each issue. We also seek art in color for the cover. Send images in jpg format, at least 200 dpi.

We encourage submissions from young poets (those under 18). We publish Youth Poetry in each issue.

Send a single copy of a newly published poetry book for possible review. No chapbooks, please.

Contributors whose work is accepted will receive one free copy and may purchase additional copies of the issue in which their work appears for half price ($5).

Please note that the poetrylane e-mail addresses are dedicated to submissions for Off the Coast. Do not use those addresses for announcements or connection to other lists. Send announcements to Valerie Lawson or Michael Brown.
